Oqema Establishes Strategic Partnership with CB Chemie

In a move to strengthen its market position in Austria and expertise in specialties, Oqema has acquired a majority share in Austria-based CB Chemie.

The company, founded in 2016, focuses on specialties in the construction, paints and coatings industry, with the subsidiary CB Nutrition specializing in natural ingredients for the food industry. Oqema said that this product scope is a perfect complement to its own portfolio and will drive synergies in food and life sciences, especially in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Braunshier, who founded CB Chemie and served as its CEO for the last 4 years, will continue to lead the company as a shareholder and managing partner in the future. He said: “I am very excited to be part of Oqema’s international network. This will provide us with a very strong product range and will help leverage our growth path over the next few years.”

“CB Chemie is a start-up with high ambitions for growth and an excellent track record for growth over the last three years,” commented Hartmut Kunz, CFO of Oqema. He added: “We are looking forward to not only integrating the product portfolio into the Oqema Group, but also to benefitting from the entrepreneurial spirit and start-up mentality of the company. It is a great spirit that moved this company forward: there is a strong team with a broad range of experience in international chemical distribution pushing this company forward – this suits the Oqema Group perfectly.”
