Morre-Tec Industries Acquires Vitacyclix

US manufacturer and distributor Morre-Tec Industries has acquired Vitacyclix, a producer of vitamins, nutrients and bioflavonoids for enhancing food and drink products, for an undisclosed sum. President and CEO of Morre-Tec, Leonard Glass, said New York-based Vitacyclix developed and launched the original vitamin A and D concentrates more than 55 years ago under its flagship brand, Freeman Dairy Vitamins A&D.

The acquisition adds a range of products including water-soluble vitamins, liquid concentrates and powders to Morre-Tec’s portfolio. Morre-Tec will also collaborate with the founders of Vitacyclix to market new water-soluble nutritional ingredients. These include fat-soluble vitamins, bioflavonoids, carotenoids and omega 3s created using Vitacyclix’ SOL-U-BLE technology. The technology is said to improve water solubility and absorption levels.

Michael Glass, Morre-Tec’s director of sales and marketing, said experts believe that more than 1 billion individuals are deficient in vitamin D. This deficiency has been associated with enabling a vast number of serious conditions including cancer, osteoporosis, Crohn’s disease, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, heart ailments, arthritis and autoimmune illnesses.
