Merck & Co Says U.S. Looking into its Foreign Activities

Merck and Co said in a regulatory filing on Friday that it had received letters from the Department of Justice and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission requesting information about the company's activities in foreign countries. The drugmaker said it was cooperating with the requests, and that it believes the requests are part of a broader review of pharmaceutical industry practices in foreign countries.
