Merck and BASF Up Stake in Organic Electronics Start-up

Germany's Merck and BASF are continuing their support for InnovationLab, the new start-up company for organic electronics that emerged from the Forum Organic Electronics R&D cooperation network.

The two chemical producers have increased to 70% their interest in the Heidelberg company funded until the end of 2013 by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of its leading-edge cluster competition.

Other partners are the University of Heidelberg and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).

"By consolidating the joint research activities of academia and business under one roof, we have created a new, effective model for successful scientific transfer," Martin Raditsch, CEO of InnovationLab.
