Italmatch Adds Flame Retardant Capacity in China

Italmatch, an Italian multinational specialty chemicals company, has started building a second flame retardants manufacturing plant in China. The expansion will expand capacity of the compay’s Phoslite range, which is based on inorganic phosphinates.

The multipurpose plant will complement existing capacity for halogen-free flame retardants in Nantong, Jiangsu, China, and Spoleto, Italy. The new facility is scheduled to start operating in 2023, with the additional output serving markets both in China and overseas.

The Genoa-headquartered company said the investment is aligned with its strategy to serve increasing demand for environmentally friendly flame retardants, particularly in the electrical and electronic sectors, including e-mobility.
