IMCD opens new technical hub
IMCD has comprehensively modernized the application laboratories for Coatings & Construction and Home Care I&I and has now reopened them at BioCampus Cologne, a technology and innovation campus in Cologne.
With its specialized laboratories, IMCD is responding to the increasing demand for practical support in formulation development, technical services, application-oriented training and close cooperation with customers and partners.
“We deliberately chose BioCampus Cologne. The modern infrastructure, strong network of research and industry, and the attractive location in the Rhineland metropolitan region provide ideal conditions for further expanding our technical expertise and offering our partners a state-of-the-art development environment,” explains Christoph Garbotz, Managing Director of IMCD Germany.
Coatings & Construction Application Laboratory
The application laboratory for Coatings & Construction was founded in Cologne in 2008. Today, it is part of a global network of 14 Coatings & Construction laboratories with over 50 technical experts. Customers from the areas of architectural paints and industrial coatings, construction and adhesives, printing inks, textile and paper products will benefit from expanded capacities and a comprehensive range of services in future.
“The modern laboratory space, enhanced technical capabilities and ample room for collaboration enable us to work even more closely with our customers, suppliers and business partners to develop tailored solutions. At the same time, we can support development projects more efficiently and accelerate time-to-market,” emphasises Jan Schmitter, Technical Manager Coatings.
Home Care I&I Application Laboratory
The application laboratory for Home Care I&I, which opened in Cologne in 2016, is part of a global laboratory network with 13 locations where experts develop cleaning and care solutions. The new, expanded laboratory space in Cologne offers specialized work areas for laundry care, dishwashing, surface care and cleaning as well as vehicle and indoor air care.
“Regional Technical Centre for Home Care I&I in Europe, we bring together formulation development, product performance testing, consulting and training in one location. With our technical expertise, a broad raw material portfolio and genuine market understanding, we support our partners from the initial idea through to a market-ready solution,” explains Fanélie Jaeglé, Technical Director Home Care I&I.
