IMCD Acquires Evonlode Foods in the UK

Dutch multinational specialty chemicals and ingredients distributor IMCD has acquired Evonlode Foods in the UK. Based in Oxford, Evonlode’s activities are mostly in the beverage, bakery, nutrition, savory and dessert markets, serving customers in manufacturing, retail and foodservice.

IMCD said Evonlode’s asset-light operations and long-term relationships with leading global specialty ingredient suppliers make it an excellent fit with its own business model and strategy.

Paul Hanbury, IMCD UK’s managing director, commented: “Evenlode distributes high-performance products and has significant expertise in powder technology which enhances IMCD’s position as a leading distributor of specialty ingredients in the UK and Ireland.”

Evonlode posted revenues of about €8.5 million in 2021 and adds five employees to the IMCD UK team. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Last month, IMCD acquired two other companies, namely Quelaris Internacional and Polyorganic Tecnologia. Quelaris operates in 14 Latin American countries and has a strong presence in the polyurethane, coatings, adhesives, rubber and other industrial markets. It posted revenues of about $52 million last year and added 46 employees to IMCD.

Headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil, Polyorganic Tecnologia is one of the country’s leading distributors to the household, industrial and institutional (HI&I) sector, also supplying the local water treatment industry and other industrial markets. The company had revenues of approximately €12 million in 2021. It is now part of IMCD Brasil.
