HSH Chemie Group Acquires Two Sweetener Companies

The acquisitions strengthens HSH Chemie’s sweetener and sugar alternatives
portfolio, adding established fructose expertise, long-standing customer
relationships, and international market access.

HSH Chemie Group announces a significant milestone in its growth strategy with the acquisition of Hamburg Fructose GmbH International (HFG) and No Sugar Sugar GmbH (NOSS), effective January 1, 2026. The two acquisitions further strengthen HSH Chemie’s position in food ingredients while expanding its capabilities along the value chain through a new consumer-oriented business model. The acquisitions reflect a shared ambition to shape the future of food ingredients through innovation, trust, and long-term collaboration, while remaining true to the values that define HSH Chemie as a family-owned, internationally active company.

Expanding Ingredient Expertise and Entering E-Commerce

HFG brings extensive expertise in fructose and sweeteners, supported by long-standing customer relationships and many years of market experience. With customers across Europe and beyond, HFG significantly expands HSH Chemie’s sweetener portfolio and strengthens access to sugar alternatives for various food applications. NOSS complements this ingredient expertise with a consumer-focused e-commerce business specializing in products based on sugar alternatives. The acquisition marks the first time HSH Chemie is entering the e-commerce space with a direct-to-consumer business model. This enables the Group to leverage its raw material knowledge and market access for the development and commercialization of consumer products. Together, the two companies represent a strategic expansion of HSH Chemie’s food ingredients portfolio while opening a new business model within the Group.

Strengthening Market Presence and Long-Term Growth

“With these acquisitions, we are expanding and strengthening our food ingredients portfolio and significantly extending our market reach,” said André Rohrbeck, Group Marketing & IT Director at HSH Chemie Group. “No Sugar Sugar introduces a new business model for us and opens up various opportunities in the B2C market. We warmly welcome all new colleagues joining the Group and look forward to growing, learning, and succeeding together.”
