Hexpol Acquires UK’s Berwin Group

Strengthening its presence in the UK market, Swedish compounder Hexpol has acquired the Berwin Group for around £25 million (€32 million). Berwin is one of the UK’s leading rubber compounders and comprises Berwin Rubber and Flexi-Cell (UK). Manufacturing facilities are located in Manchester and Gloucestershire with around 200 employees. Annual turnover is approximately £40 million.

Georg Brunstam, Hexpol’s CEO, said the acquisition was a further step in expanding and strengthening the group’s core business. The purchase price will be funded by a combination of cash and existing bank facilities.
