Frank Wegener was appointed CEO of ESIM Chemicals with effect from 1 March 2019. Wegener joined ESIM from WeylChem where he acted as President of the WeylChem Group of Companies, the fine chemicals brand of ICIG, for 4 years. He studied Technical Chemistry at the Ruhr University Bochum. After graduating as a Ph.D. from the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, in 1992, he started his career as a technical sales representative at Safechem Europe and moved on to LyondellBasell in 1995 as a sales manager. In 1998 he joined Kemira, where he held various executive positions before joining WeylChem in 2015.

ESIM Chemicals is a global provider of agricultural and crop protection chemicals, intermediates and maleic anhydride tree chemicals. The growing enterprise headquartered in Linz (Austria) with approximately 450 employees has more than 75 years of experience in supplying advanced fine chemical products and intermediates using state of the art facilities in Linz.
