Evonik Doubles Methacrylic Anhydride at Worms

German chemical producer Evonik, which regards itself as one of the world's leading suppliers of methacrylate chemistry products, has doubled production capacity for methacrylic anhydride  sold under the Visomer MAAH trademark at its site in Worms, Germany.

Methacrylic anhydride is an important building block for production of specialty methacrylates, which are used in such applications as concrete additives, paints and colorants, electronics applications, and plastics.

In addition to MAAH, Evonik produces and markets a wide range of specialty methacrylates like MMA, GMAA, n-BMA, i-BMA, and hydroxy methacrylates, all marketed under the Visiomer name.
