Evonik and Brenntag to Market Peroxide and Peracetic Acid

German chemical producer Evonik and compatriot chemical distributor Brenntag plan to cooperate on marketing Evonik’s specialty hydrogen peroxide Persynt and its peracetic acid Peraclean in Europe.
Hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid formulations are used by the personal & health care in sectors drug and medical products as well as in disinfectant and bleaching agents. Evonik is in the process of introducing new hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid grades for drug, medical products, and cosmetics manufacturers.
The chemical producer said it is responding to increasingly more stringent regulatory requirements in close-to-consumer industry segments. Its European customers in future will receive customized solutions to help them formulate safe and fully certified products for end consumers.
Concurrently Evonik is expanding its portfolio for the pharma industry by offering active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) produced on a GMP basis. Its central point of production at Weißenstein, Austria, is currently being certified according to GMP guidelines.
The world’s second largest producer of hydrogen peroxide with facilities at twelve sites on six continents, said this will make it the first manufacturer in Europe with a fully back integrated production. At present, the site is certified according to ISO 9001, 14001, and 13485.
Brenntag Europe, Middle East and Africa, Evonik’s distribution partner in for hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid products in many European countries, will begin marketing activity in 25 countries in the coming weeks.
