DuPont to Increase India Knowledge Center Staff

DuPont plans to double the staff at its India knowledge center in the next two to three years, the head of the company's South Asia operations said on Sunday.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum's India summit, Balvinder Singh Kalsi was joined by DuPont Chief Executive Ellen Kullman, who said the company launched the centre in November last year.

The center, which includes research and development, currently employs 360 people in the south Indian city of Hyderabad.

"We need to connect with customers at a very different level and localize our technology and our science to really apply to the Indian market."

DuPont employs 1,800 people in India and has six factories in the country, Kalsi said.
