Croda Acquires Seeds Enhancement Firm Incotec

Croda International has agreed to buy Dutch seeds enhancement business Incotec for €155 million. Incotec supplies proprietary and sustainable technologies for vegetable seeds and field crops to improve seed performance and deliver increased farming yields.

The acquisition is expected to finalize on Dec. 4, 2015.

UK-based Croda said it has identified seed enhancement as a key market opportunity for its Crop Care business, and the Incotec assets will give it a broader, more innovative product portfolio as well as enlarging its global research and technical capabilities and sales force.

Supported by further investment from Croda, Incotec will retain its independent identity and brand in offering priming, disinfecting, film coating, encrusting and pelleting expertise and analytical quality testing.

Steve Foots, Croda’s CEO, said the combination of the two businesses will create a strong and unique platform for future growth and will enable it to be more responsive to the unmet needs of customers.
