Special Trade Press Analysis at LAE 2022: The Use of Information Sources by Decision-Makers

In the latest LAE special evaluation for 2022, specialist media offerings once again occupy the top spots when it comes to orientation and information in the professional environment. The LAE reader analysis regularly examines the media usage behavior of around three million professional decision-makers in Germany.

Trade journals confirm B2B's top ranking as an information source.

A total of 52.6% of decision-makers regularly use trade journals (print or e-paper), while 88.8% use them either regularly or occasionally. This confirms that trade journals remain the leading source of B2B information. Digital trade media offerings, such as websites, social media, newsletters, and apps, are in second place in the ranking and are used regularly by 40.1% of decision-makers. Digital events, such as conferences, webinars, and e-learning, follow in third place, with 38% of decision-makers using them regularly or occasionally. In terms of regular or occasional use, digital trade media offerings and digital events are almost neck and neck at around 80%.
