BASF Completes Sale of Paper Business

BASF has completed the divestment of its global paper hydrous kaolin (PHK) business to Imerys, a French producer of mineral-based specialty solutions for industry.

The German group will continue the manufacture of PHK products for Imerys under a tolling agreement for a limited time.

Part of the transaction is a kaolin milling facility in Wilkinson County, Georgia, USA. BASF said it will continue to own and operate its other assets in Georgia, including kaolin reserves, mining and production facilities as well as a slurry facility in Ghent, Belgium.
