Azelis Acquires Dutch Distributor Sirius

Azelis continues its acquisition spree, this time adding Dutch distributor Sirius International to its stable. Sirius said it will operate as part of Azelis as of Jun. 1. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Based in Baarn, the Netherlands, Sirius distributes sustainable chemicals, including emulsifiers, detergents, polymers and specialties, for the European home care and industrial cleaning, personal care and water treatment markets. The company runs four warehouses for hazardous and non-hazardous materials and also offers mixing and repackaging services.

“By joining forces with Sirius, we are delighted to strengthen our presence in, among others, the home care and industrial cleaning markets in the Benelux and Europe, Middle East and North Africa region. We are committed to promoting sustainable solutions across all sectors of the chemical industry, and we believe that this partnership will help us achieve our goals,” said Evy Hellinckx, managing director Azelis Benelux.

The acquisition follows two other deals in the past couple of months. In May, Azelis purchased Gillco Ingredients, a US specialty ingredient provider to the food & nutrition market, while in April, it agreed to take a majority share of Vogler Ingredients, a Brazilian distributor active in the food & nutrition and animal nutrition sectors.
