Arxada Buys Enviro Tech

In its second deal since becoming an independent company, Arxada – formerly Lonza Specialty Ingredients – has acquired Enviro Tech Chemical Services, a US manufacturer of proprietary and high efficacy antimicrobial and biocidal products. Financial details of the transaction, which closed on Dec. 22, 2021, were not disclosed.

The Enviro Tech acquisition will create a new, complementary business line in Arxada’s Microbial Control Solutions (MCS) division, focusing on peracetic acid (PAA), bromines and specialty products for the food and beverage, agriculture and wastewater treatment segments.

The buy will also strengthen Arxada’s US manufacturing network through the addition of three large-scale facilities in Modesto, California; Helena, Arkansas; and Levelland, Texas. Enviro Tech also has warehousing and sales offices in Mexico and Chile.

“The acquisition of Enviro Tech is another important and strategic deal for Arxada as we extend our position within the microbial control industry. Enviro Tech brings direct access to the $6 billion food and beverage hygiene market and adds capabilities in sustainable and highly complementary chemistries,” said CEO Marc Doyle. “Enviro Tech’s strong culture of innovation is a great fit with Arxada’s strategic plans to expand our MCS capabilities and to develop unique solutions to meet our customers’ needs and drive our future growth.”

Enviro Tech’s founder and former CEO Mike Harvey has joined Arxada as senior fellow in the technology & regulatory organization, while Brent Bankosky, former president of Enviro Tech, will lead the newly created business line.

Last November, Arxada which is owned by private equity funds Bain Capital and Cinven, announced plans to merge with Troy, a US-based provider of microbial control solutions and performance additives.
