Arch Chemicals Posts Profit

Arch Chemicals posted a surprise quarterly profit as higher pricing and the favorable impact of a recent acquisition offset lower volumes and unfavorable foreign exchange. Net income for the quarter was $3.2 million, or 13 cents a share, compared with $5.7 million, or 23 cents a share, in the same quarter last year. Sales fell 15 % to $293.7 million.
