Reverdia has announced that Ad Smolders has joined the company as Operations Director. Reverdia is a joint venture between DSM and Roquette and produces, markets and licenses bio-based succinic acid under the brand name Biosuccinium.

Smolders previously worked at DSM for seventeen years in various international technology and manufacturing assignments. More recently, he has overseen an extensive number of operations projects, including the optimization of yeast plants, as a consultant and interim manager.

Marcel Lubben, Reverdia’s President said, “With his considerable experience in manufacturing and process improvement, Ad Smolders will lead Reverdia’s operations to the next stage of growth.  His leadership in manufacturing excellence will further bolster our low pH yeast technology. This will benefit both our clients out of Cassano and also our partners and licensees for future Biosuccinium plants.”
