BASF Signs Offtake Agreement with Braven for Recycled Feedstock

BASF and Braven Environmental, a market leader in advanced recycling, have signed a supply agreement for Braven PyChem. This recycled feedstock, derived from mixed plastic waste, will partially replace fossil resources at the BASF TotalEnergies Petrochemical (BTP) facility in Port Arthur, Texas, US, the companies said. Under the agreement, Braven will supply BASF from a multi-unit facility that it plans to build in Texarkana, Texas.

Air Liquide to Launch New Renewable Hydrogen Production Facility in France

French industrial gases group Air Liquide is launching a renewable hydrogen production project at La Mède, France, to supply TotalEnergies’ biorefinery at that site under a long-term contract. AirLiquide will build, own, and operate the new unit with a capacity of 25,000 t/y, producing hydrogen from recycled biogenic by-products instead of fossil hydrocarbons.

TotalEnergies and Air Products Sign Agreement for Green Hydrogen Delivery in Europe

Air Products and TotalEnergies have entered into a 15-year contract to annually deliver 70,000 tons of green hydrogen in Europe, commencing in 2030. This first long-term agreement is a response to TotalEnergies' tender for 500,000 tons of green hydrogen per year, aimed at reducing carbon emissions from TotalEnergies' European refineries.

TotalEnergies has acquired Spanish mechanical recycling company Iber Resinas for an undisclosed sum. The French energy, chemicals and plastics company said the acquisition will increase its production of circular polymers in Europe, extend its range of recycled products and enhance its access to feedstock through Iber Resinas’ network of suppliers.

TotalEnergies Sells Half of Renewable Projects Portfolio

TotalEnergies is selling half of its portfolio of renewable projects to French insurance specialist Crédit Agricole Assurances. The transaction, which implies an enterprise value of $300 million, includes 23 solar power plants and six wind farms, of which 25 are already operational and four are due to be commissioned in the first half of this year.
