Connecting Modular I/Os to Profinet via SCRJ

Photo

The new I/O bus coupler for Profinet with IP20 protection from Phoenix Contact serves as a link between the I/O level and Ethernet. It is designed to connect up to 62 or 16 functional units, such as digital and analog inputs/outputs and counters, to the network via the SCRJ plug connector.

The IL PN BK DI8 DO4 2SCRJ-PAC bus coupler offers I/O functionality for process data and PCP operation (up to 16 devices) compliant with protection class IP20. The Ethernet and I/O-specific LEDs ensure quick commissioning and easy diagnostics. The bus coupler has the full functional scope of the Profinet Stack 3.1. It therefore provides the LLDP, PDEV, MRP, ASR, I&M functions and dynamic Profibus functionality.

The bus coupler is fully integrated in the Automationworx system from Phoenix Contact based on the PC Worx 5 automation software. I/O data and diagnostics data are directly linked in using variable names - just the same as for fieldbus integration. Customers can access the bus-specific device description files in the download area.
