Custom manufacturing and toll services company WeylChem US will invest more than $13 million to expand production capabilities at its site in Elgin, South Carolina, USA. The company will also enhance the site’s infrastructure and existing equipment.

Work will start during the second quarter and should be completed by the end of 2017. WeylChem said the expansion was prompted by a new large and long-term customer tolling project. Rob Harpum, commercial director for the Americas, said the company’s goal is to be its partners’ first choice, both now and in the future.

The US arm is part of a platform of fine chemical companies owned by the International Chemical Investors Group (ICIG), which specializes in developing and producing products in partnership with companies from various industries, including agriculture, specialty chemicals, polymers and pharmaceuticals. The Pharmaceuticals activities are grouped under CordenPharma and chlorvinyls under Vynova.
