SGS Names Two Executives for New California Facility

Leading pharmaceutical analytical and bioanalytical contract solutions provider SGS Life Science Services has announced two senior appointments at its new North American Life Science Services GMP/GLP laboratory in Carson, California, which is due to open in this year's third quarter.

Marcella McSorley will join SGS as quality assurance manager from Aaron Industries, where she served as director of quality control for analytical chemistry, microbiology and stability disciplines and oversaw the FDA- approved OTC Pharmaceutical manufacturing facility Alpha Therapeutic Corporation (now Grifols).

As microbiology manager at Carson, SGS has appointed Pojaman Zunggeemoge. She will focus on practical management of the microbiology department and ensure ongoing compliance with SOPs. Zunggeemoge moves from Grifols Biologicals, where she was QC microbiology supervisor, responsible for adherence to cGMP protocols, company specifications and procedures.

The Carson facility will be SGS's first on the US west coast and will offer microbiological testing and bioanalytical services in a GMP/GLP controlled environment. This adds to the existing network in Fairfield, New Jersey, Lincolnshire, Illinois, West Chester, Pennsylvania and Mississauga, Ontario.
