Dow Corning Expands Central & Eastern Europe Operations

Dow Corning said has expanded its presence in Central Europe with a new commercial office in Warsaw, Poland. The company intends to work more closely with local businesses as they focus on modernization, improved efficiency and sustainable growth. The office will house sales professionals and experts in silicone technologies to provide the country's construction, personal care, processing and manufacturing industries with silicon-based materials and solutions. It will form part of a network to support the Central and European region alongside its commercial centers in Istanbul and Moscow. The company expects the office will have as many as 10 employees within the next year.

"Central Europe, and in particular Poland, is an attractive region with a resilient economy, skilled workforce and growing modern industry," said Dr. Stephanie A. Burns, Dow Corning's chair, president and CEO. "We recognize the region's growing importance in the global economy and want to ensure the benefits of Dow Corning's silicon-based materials and technology are easily available to help local businesses to grow and compete."

Dow Corning's business activities in Poland began in the 1970s providing materials and expertise to key sectors of the economy through several local distributors. Dow Corning plans to grow its presence while playing an important role in Poland's intense infrastructure development.

Dow Corning said it is seeking collaboration opportunities in the region, not just with customers, but also with academic, government and other research organizations that are focused on innovating products and process to make them more efficient and environmentally sustainable.
