CAC - Chemieanlagenbau Chemnitz - to expand chlor alkali plant at Donau Chemie

Chemieanlagenbau Chemnitz (CAC) has been awarded a contract by Donau Chemie, Vienna Austria, to expand the existing membrane electrolysis plant at the production site in Brueckl, Austria, by an annual capacity of approx. 30,000 tons of chlorine and the corresponding amount of caustic soda.

"We appreciate to be selected as the contractor by the Donau Chemie Group since we were originally involved in the conversion from the mercury based electrolysis to the membrane process based technology.", says Joerg Engelmann, Chief Executive Officer of CAC.
The contract covers engineering, procurement and construction supervision. Commissioning is scheduled for the second quarter of 2015. Chemieanlagenbau Chemnitz (CAC), a well established company in the plant and process engineering business, is an experienced contact for comprehensive engineering services. The company, having the headquarter in Chemnitz, Saxony, has more than 50 years of experience in the fields of refinery and gas technology, petrochemicals, inorganic chemicals as well as fine and specialty chemicals.

Donau Chemie Group generated in the financial year 2012/2013 a turnover of around 292 million euros and employs approximately 900 employees in 11 countries.
