BP to Permanently Close Texas PX unit

BP has announced it will shutter its paraxylene (PX) plant at Texas City in the US with a capacity believed to exceed 1million t/y. The UK-based company cites market conditions as a reason for closing the plant.

BP will continue to operate its two other PX units in the US.
