Air Products Profit More Than Doubles

Industrial gas supplier Air Products, which has gone hostile in its bid for rival Airgas, said quarterly profit more than doubled as volume rose in key product categories.

For the fiscal third quarter ended June 30, the company reported net income of $243.2 million, or $1.19 per share, compared with $113.2 million, or 54 cents per share, in the year-ago period.
