MechSyn develops and produces high-performance nanopowder materials and innovative material recycling processes for demanding industrial applications. The company’s core technology is based on fully electrically driven mechanochemical methods that enable chemical transformations without the need for high temperatures, high pressures, or solvents. 

By eliminating energy-intensive process conditions, MechSyn enables the sustainable and efficient production of novel materials with outstanding performance characteristics. This approach allows industrial partners to develop higher-quality products, reduce manufacturing costs, and support their transition toward net-zero CO₂ emissions. 

MechSyn’s material platforms address a broad range of advanced technology applications, including catalysts and catalyst supports for chemical production, battery materials, semiconductors, and fuel cells. 

The company originated from the innovative research environment of the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung, Department of Heterogeneous Catalysis, in Mülheim an der Ruhr. MechSyn is supported by the EXIST Research Transfer Program of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
