AstraZeneca, one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies, has been named as IChemE's newest corporate partner. IChemE President Sir William Wakeham presented senior AstraZeneca personnel with the company's corporate partner certificate last week in front of a gathering of staff, IChemE council members and invited guests.

The company was awarded silver partner status after demonstrating their commitment to the chemical engineering profession and their chemical engineering employees.

Around 100 IChemE members are employed by AstraZeneca in the UK and the company has an IChemE accredited training schemes at its Macclesfield site.

IChemE's corporate partner scheme was launched last year to formally recognize industry employers that demonstrate a sustained commitment to the process industries. The scheme has three tiers and is designed to be flexible enough to recognize industry employers of all sizes.
