Dutch distributor Caldic has completed its acquisition of HT Griffin Food Ingredients, a Canadian manufacturer and supplier of food ingredients and blending solutions. Financial terms were not disclosed.

“With this acquisition, Caldic is underlining its strategy to be a leading global distributor for the food industry,” said Caldic's CEO, Olav van Caldenborgh.  HTG's product range includes stabilizer systems, custom blends, flavor systems, dairy ingredients, extracts and sweeteners.

The Rotterdam-based company said HTG was an excellent addition to its existing activities in North America. Caldic has locations in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver in Canada, and in Chicago and Los Angeles in the US.

In February, Caldic announced it had agreed to buy Acatris, another food ingredients supplier located in Bunschoten, the Netherlands and Mechelen, Belgium.
