Lanxess Completes Solvay Additives Buy
15.02.2018 -
Following the approval of all regulatory instances, German specialty chemicals producer Lanxess has successfully completed its acquisition of Solvay’s €65 million phosphorus chemicals business, including the Belgian group’s US production site at Charleston, South Carolina.
The business’s transfer was agreed in November 2017.
Solvay’s Charleston site includes six production plants, in which roughly 90 employees manufacture phosphorus chloride and derivatives such as flame-retardant additives and agricultural intermediates.
Lanxess said the acquisition fully complements its strategy to grow its business in mid-sized markets and in the regions North America and Asia.
