Tecnimont Wins EPC Contracts Worth $3.5 Billion from Borouge
Tecnimont’s work on the Borouge 4 complex relates to the two PE plants, each with a capacity of 700,000 t/y, the 1-hexene unit, the cross-linkable PE plant and the utilities and offsites facilities for the whole project.
In addition to EPC services, the contractor will provide equipment and materials, commissioning and start-up assistance. The complex, said to be the world’s largest single-site polyolefin facility, is expected to be completed by 2025.
Tecnimont previously provided front end engineering and design services on Borouge 4 in 2020, and also worked on the Borouge 1, 2 and 3 complexes. The company added that it has leveraged its NextPlant portfolio of digital solutions to make Borouge 4 a “future-ready” industrial complex.
“Our portfolio of digital solutions combined with our technology-driven process expertise will ensure the highest plant assets’ optimization and the best environmentally performing standards,” said Maire Tecnimont Group CEO Pierroberto Folgiero.
