Swiss specialty chemicals producer and distributor Omya and French-based global chemical producer Arkema have sealed an exclusive pan-European distribution agreement.

Under the terms, Omya will market Arkema's impact modifier and processing aid solutions range for various European polymer markets except Spain and Portugal. Products covered include the brands Plastistrength, Durastrength, Clearstrength and Biostrength.

By leveraging its distribution network in Europe and synergies between the two chemical companies, Omya said it will provide "extensive business opportunities" for Arkema and make a complete plastic additives range as well as tailor-made services available to its clients. 

"This distribution agreement fits perfectly with our long-term development strategy for plastic additives in Europe," said Martin Burki, commercial director for the relevant Arkema business.
