Marco Antonio Quirino Named President of Univar Latin America

Marco Antonio Quirino has been named President of Univar Latin America, effective September 1. The announcement was made by David Flitman, Chief Operating Officer and President of Univar USA and Latin America, to whom Quirino now reports.
In his new role, Quirino will manage the company's businesses in Mexico and Brazil in support of Univar's operations in the Latin America market. He will be responsible for driving growth and developing partner relationships across Univar's key industries in the region, including polyurethanes, personal care, food, agrochemicals, coatings, and oilfield services.
Quirino has more than 25 years of experience in the chemical industry and joined Univar in May 2013 as President of Univar Brazil. Previously, he served as Business Director for Braskem's polyethylene business, and was responsible for the company's commercial and industrial operations, including sales, planning, market development, customer service, production, and EH&S. Prior to Braskem, Quirino was Vice President of Industrial and Commercial Operations for Quattor. Quirino began his career and spent 20 years with Dow Chemical where he held a number of positions in sales, marketing, and general management, including eight years living in Mexico City in a key commercial leadership role.
Quirino earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Mackenzie University and his MBA from the FIA Business School in São Paulo. He has also completed advanced management programs at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business and INSEAD.
