10.05.2016 -
Fernando Musa took over as new CEO of Braskem on May 4, succeeding Carlos Fadigas, who is taking up a new position at the Brazilian petrochemicals giant’s majority shareholder, construction conglomerate Odebrecht.
Musa, who has worked for Braskem since 2010, initially as vice president for strategic planning, has headed the company’s operations in the US and Europe since March 2012. The new group CEO, who has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA) and an MBA from Insead in France, previously served in various positions at McKinsey, Editora Abril and Monitor Group.
"My priorities will be to build on Braskem's successful growth and international expansion strategy, strengthen its competiveness across all operations and identify new investment opportunities in Brazil and abroad," Musa said.
