Abstract of winners thesis:
In this thesis, a method for analysing, modelling and optimising cleaning processes with an impinging coherent jet was developed and tested.
Two qualitative models were presented: the Sinner's Circle and the concept of cause-effect relationships based on the division into opera­tional, process and target parameters. These prove to be helpful tools for describing cleaning processes in general. Regardless of the model applied, it was shown that a simultaneous increase of the performance indicators under consid­eration can only be achieved by increasing the jet moving speed. However, it is not possible to maximize the time and volume related cleaning performance indicators simultaneously. These are much more sensitive to the nozzle diameter than to pres­sure. Pressure, on the other hand, has a stronger influence on the performance indicator based on hydraulic energy. As a possible optimal jet moving speed, model predictions identified a range where the cleaned track width is about three times the lower limit of the wall jet region. At the same time, lower process stability must be expected with increased jet moving speed.

Träger des Hygienic Study Award sind Fraunhofer IVV Dresden, VDMA Fachverband Nahrungsmittelmaschinen und EHEDG.

Die Jury wird alle Beiträge bewerten und die Gewinnenden auswählen. Alle Teilnehmenden werden bis Anfang Juni durch das Organisa­tionsbüro des Fraunhofer IVV über ihr Ergebnis informiert.
