Vinkocide BDA 30 from Vink Chemicals is a newly developed biocidal product that can be used for disinfection in product type 2 (PT 2) applications. It closes the gap created by a new commission decision in accordance with the BPR and delegated regulations: With immediate effect, biocidal products for PT 2 are excluded if they are based on the active substance DBNPA and do not yet have authorization.

Product type 2 (PT 2) applications include disinfectants and algaecides that may be used in the private sector, in the public health sector or in industry. Typical applications in industry include the general disinfection of surfaces, machines and installations such as air conditioning systems. The direct treatment of humans and animals must be excluded.

With the new decision of the BPR, only those DBNPA preparations that have already been authorized for PT 2 may continue to be used for a limited period of time. There will no longer be any new disinfectants with the active substance DBNPA authorized for PT 2. To close this gap, Vink Chemicals has developed a new product: Vinkocide BDA 30, which is based on the active ingredient N,N-bis-(3-aminopropyl)dodecylamine (laurylamine dipropylenediamine, BDA) and is suitable for PT 6, 11, 12 and 13 in addition to product type 2 applications. Vinkocide BDA 30 can be used primarily for surface disinfection in many industries. It is non-sensitizing, has no mutagenic or carcinogenic effects and is free of aldehydes, halogens and quaternary ammonium compounds. Vinkocide BDA 30 is compatible with anionic and non-ionic surfactants and is stable in a wide pH range. It is effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria as well as algae and enveloped viruses such as hepatitis B. Vinkocide BDA 30 is highly effective even at low temperatures and when surfaces are heavily contaminated with organic matter. It also works rapidly in low concentrations. Vinkocide BDA 30 can be used by itself or in combination with other biocides to formulate a wide range of products for disinfection applications.

Vinkocide BDA 30 helps to prevent renewed microbiological contamination, especially in applications with a longer shelf life (for instance in a closed system or for the disinfection of equipment and machines). It can also be used in the field of production and preservation, for example for paints, household cleaners and similar products.

Vinkocide BDA 30 is an excellent alternative for product type 2 applications in which DBNPA-based preparations may no longer be used. The new biocidal product from Vink Chemicals acts quickly against a broad spectrum of bacteria and fungi.
