High Performance in an Ultra-slim Design
Flipper 6650 Solenoid Valve from Bürkert is Convincing in Both 3/2 and 2/2 Way Version
The 6650 flipper solenoid valve from Bürkert Fluid Control Systems sets new stan-dards in the dosing of fluids in analytical technology applications: With a pitch of only 4.5 millimetres, the valve is available in a 2/2 and 3/2 way version - offers per-formance equal to or better than comparable 10 and 16 mm valves.
With the media separated 6650 flipper valve Bürkert presents an extremely compact, fast switching valve which has been optimized especially for reproducible and precise dosing of aggressive fluids. In addition to a 2/2 way version with a nominal diameter of 0.4 mm, the valve is also available as a universal 3/2 way version with a nominal diameter of 0.8 mm. Therefore, the 6650 valve is ideal for demanding analytical applications requiring maximum fluidic capacities in a compact space.
Miniaturization Also Minimizes Media Costs
With a pitch of only 4.5 mm Bürkert sets a new standard in the miniaturization of media separated solenoid valves. The compact design can be used specifically in clinical chem-istry, medical technology, the analysis of environmental parameters and also in industrial micro-dosing technology. Thanks to the small width, manufacturers of devices and sys-tems can mount more valves in a smaller space, thus providing increased functionality. Smaller devices mean a smaller internal volume in the connecting plates, for significantly increased utilization of the media used. Depending on the price of the chemicals to be dosed, this can reduce costs greatly.
Patented Technology
The patented technology of the Bürkert flipper solenoid valves is based on an elastomer element which in the 3/2 way valve moves between two opposing valve seats, opening one and closing the other. The common connection can be used as an inlet for distribution to one of the two seats or as an outlet for a mixer function. The media comes into contact only with the housing, made of PEEK, and the seal elements, made of FFKM - therefore, the valve is also suitable for dosing of aggressive fluids.
Ideal for Microtiter Plate Automation
The 4.5 mm pitch makes the 6650 valves perfectly suitable for the automated filling of 384-well microtiter plates, which also use a 4.5 mm matrix. Individual cavities can be filled not only quickly, but also individually, with different quantities and media. This opens up completely new possibilities for developing more efficient processes in many areas, such as clinical chemistry.
