At peak time, Tecnicas will have 450 people in Madrid working on the project, which is dubbed Project One, plus another 225 at fabrication yards near the Antwerp site for the large-scale modules.

Ineos is investing between €3 billion and €4 billion in the facility, which will produce 1.5 million t/y of ethylene when it starts up in 2026. The chemicals group claims it is the largest capital investment made by the European chemical industry in the past 20 years.
