BASF Expands European Acrylates Output
09.06.2016 -
Citing rising demand, BASF said it will expand production facilities for its Laromer UV/EB acrylates, at its Ludwigshafen, Germany, headquarters from the third quarter of this year. Capacity at Meaux, France, was widened in early 2014.
The German group, world’s largest chemical producer, said the latest expansion will strengthen its position as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of UV/EB resins used as binders to formulate coatings for furniture and flooring, inks and overprint varnishes as well as in coatings for plastics and metal substrates.
BASF also manufactures a broad portfolio of complementary resins such as polyisocyanates, dispersions and additives. Ulf Neidlein, vice president for the resin and additive business in Europe, said the additional capacity will help BASF increase its supply reliability and show its commitment to this growth market.
