Linde, the world's No.2 industrial gases maker, signed a contract worth $1.1 billion in Abu Dhabi on Monday to build a processing installation for oil and gas. The contract for an ethane cracker, which was negotiated last year, was signed on the first day of a trip by German Chancellor Angela Merkel to several Gulf states. Europe's biggest engineering conglomerate Siemens also signed a contract worth $145 million to develop power infrastructure.
