The Swiss-based chemical distributor DKSH has announced plans to strengthen its position in the European market through acquisitions, industry organization membership and exclusive distribution partnerships. DKSH recently acquired fellow Swiss specialty chemicals distributor Staerkle & Nagler in order to boost its coverage in Austria and Switzerland. The company also recently joined the European Association of Chemical Distributors, widely known as the Fecc.

DKSH has also recently begun several partnerships, including a distribution contract for Taiwanese additives maker Doxa, silicone-maker Dow Corning and Silverhawk, a Chinese company active in cellulose ether for coatings. The company said it has also expanded its long-standing cooperation with Nagase, a Japanese company active in personal care and food additives maker The Wright Group.  

The company has also expanded its European Regulatory Affairs Competence Center in Lyon, France. (bhs)
