BioNTech Founders in German Research Hall of Fame
The principals of the company that developed the first mRNA-based Covid-19 vaccine to be approved by regulatory authorities worldwide have done outstanding research for decades and are true pioneers in medicine, Merck CEO Belén Garijo said at the ceremony. “Based on this technology, she said, “the door to an effective treatment of cancer and to new vaccines for infectious diseases is now wide open. Their work has been indispensable in bringing the Covid-19 pandemic to a halt.”
