Sanofi-Aventis has completed the acquisitions of a 50 % stake in animal health firm Merial from joint venture partner Merck & Co. for $4.0 billion in a deal that will be earnings enhancing from the first year. Merial will report to Hanspeter Spek, Sanofi said.
