Japan's Mitsui Chemicals said on Friday it would shut a 553,000 tons per year naphtha cracker at its Ichihara plant in Chiba, east of Tokyo, for 27 days in July for scheduled maintenance.       

The company said it would skip maintenance work this year on its other 455,000 tpy cracker at Osaka plant in western Japan.
