Germany’s Biesterfeld Spezialchemie has acquired Norwegian distribution company Lindberg & Lund for an undisclosed sum.

Headquartered in Oslo, Lindberg & Lund imports, manufactures and distributes lubricants, construction adhesives, solvents, composite materials, castings and auxiliaries. It has branches also in Sweden and Finland and employs 50 people.

"The range of products and services offered by the Lindberg & Lund Group perfectly complements our portfolio in the area of performance products," said Peter Wilkes, managing director of Biesterfeld Spezialchemie. "Furthermore, this step will allow us to expand our strategic presence in Europe and to extend to Scandinavia and Finland.”

Steiner Lindberg, the majority shareholder of the Norwegian company, added that both companies “can build valuable synergies together with their almost identical business models.”

Based in Hamburg, Biesterfeld is a family-owned chemical distributor with an annual turnover of €1.2 billion and 800 employees. It is present in Europe, North and South America and Asia.
