Arkema Arm Opens Philippines Adhesives Plant
26.04.2016 -
Bostik, the specialty adhesives business of France’s Arkema, has expanded its production of cementitious powder in the Philippines. The plant in Misamis Oriental will supply construction customers in the high-growth regions of Mindanao and Visayas, Bostik said. Capacity details were not divulged.
Based on Bostik’s polymer modified binder (PMB) technology, the plant manufactures tile adhesives, wall finishing products and other construction systems. Bostick said its PMB technology remains a focus for ongoing innovation, research and development activities.
Jeffrey Merkt, Bostik’s senior vice president of Asia, said development in high-growth geographies is one of the central components of the company’s growth strategy, and the new facility will enable it to significantly expand its construction business in an important market.
This latest expansion follows other recent plant openings in Mexico, the US, India, Brazil and Malaysia.
