The additional line with have advanced systems for containing and handling substances up to level OEB4 – substances at this level are hazardous and require stringent measures to prevent operator exposure.

It will also be suitable for producing medium-volume batches, along with providing the ability to respond flexibly to market requests, both in the CDMO field and for manufacturing proprietary products.

Olon is rolling out an investment program of €27 million during 2022 and 2023 to further expand its internal expertise and capacity for high-containment production.

In June, the company announced it was spending €10 million to create a R&D hub at its site in Rodano, Milan. The center is expected to be operational in the second quarter of 2023.
