Univar Buys Spanish Distributor Vicom
The deal will expand Univar’s portfolio of coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers (CASE) and strengthen its presence in Europe.
"Vicom advances our strategic growth priorities by deepening our ability to offer market-leading ingredients, specialty chemicals and solutions to our customers,” said Nick Powell, Univar’s president of global ingredients & specialties, adding that the Spanish firm is a “highly complementary fit.”
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Headquartered in Barcelona, Vicom partners with several major chemical companies that include ExxonMobil, Arkema, Synthomer, among others.
Last December, Univar acquired Brazilian ingredients and specialty chemicals distributor Sweetmix.
